Favorite 5 Healthy Breakfast Recipes

Avocado Blueberry Smoothie

If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, shouldn’t you be treating it as such? At BootCampSF, we encourage boot campers to make their own breakfasts versus reaching for a high-sugar cereal. Here are a few of our favorite recipes that are simple and add variety to your healthy diets.

1. Paleo Pancakes

This recipe is a great fit for anyone who has dietary restrictions and is on a grain-free, gluten-free or dairy-free diet. Here is a recipe for the lightest and fluffiest Paleo pancakes that we found. They are made with almond flour and a little bit of coconut flour for the best texture.

Made with only 5 main ingredients these Paleo Pancakes without flour are easy to make and perfect to make any time you need to whip up a quick breakfast and use those ripe bananas.

  1. Homemade Granola

This is one of our favorite recipes because it is super easy, quick, and allows you to control the amount of sugar and quality of ingredients, while also changing things up and adding in the flavors that you love.

Serve it as cereal with unsweetened, non-dairy milk (we prefer it with unsweetened almond milk), put it in unsweetened Greek yogurt, or just eat it plain.

  1. Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Energy Bites

Satisfy your cravings for morning sweets with these DELICIOUS energy bites. They can be eaten any time of day, but they really make the perfect on-the-go breakfast. These bites are unbelievably quick and easy to make and they are chocked full of protein. The best part about this recipe is knowing that the ingredients in these will give you much more energy throughout the day, rather than resulting in a sugar crash an hour later.

  1. Healthy Homemade Egg McMuffin

Eggs really are the perfect food: they’re nutritious, they’re filling, they’re adaptable, and they’re totally portable if need be. And there’s probably not a better known portable egg meal than the almighty Egg McMuffin. And there’s no reason not to make it at home. Grab and go breakfasts can be the saving grace of any weekday morning. The eggs in this homemade Egg McMuffin sandwich recipe can be batch cooked in the oven, on the stove top, or in the microwave, and make eating a healthy breakfast your easiest decision of the day. These grab and go breakfast sandwiches can be totally meal prepped ahead and are just as good with sliced hard boiled eggs, too.

  1. The beloved Blueberry Avocado Banana Smoothie

Of course, our “favorite breakfasts” list isn’t complete without a smoothie recipe! We’ve shared this recipe on social media as well because it is amazing. This blueberry banana avocado smoothie will be a delicious breakfast smoothie, AND it’s packed with nourishing ingredients that will help give you glowing skin.

In Conclusion

A nutritious, well-balanced breakfast can give you energy and prevent you from eating too much during the rest of the day. Remember to read labels on any processed breakfast selections to see if they’re healthy choices — especially with protein bars and some yogurts due to the fact some of them can have a lot of added sugar.
